ClearCode Software developed one of the first ever VoiceMail systems in 1989, although operating under a different name at that time. We used a simple setup consisting of an IBM XT computer, a 1200 baud modem, an answering machine and a basic pager. We developed custom software which monitored the phone line, and paged the client whenever a voice message was left on the answering machine. Simple enough compared to today’s standards of email & cell phones, but at the time it was cutting-edge.

The name ClearCode was first considered back in 1993 while walking along the beach in Southern California. We were searching for a name that promotes clarity in thought, focus in mission, and of course relates to what we do. After toiling around with many other options, we landed on ClearCode Software, and the rest, as they say, is history…

In 1994, the Huntington Beach Police Department needed a revolutionary system developed for their ambulance operators in the field. This system would be required to transmit paper forms en route to their destination hospital, thereby saving lives by reducing support time needed at arrival. ClearCode solved this problem by implementing a pen-based computer system that mimicked the EMT’s current forms, minimizing the learning curve needed by the operators. Using cellular-modems, the forms would be faxed in real-time to the selected hospital from anywhere in the city.

ClearCode Software has grown to produce leading edge, custom applications for U.S. companies such as Price Pfister, Armorall, BDS Marketing, AIP Laboratories (Australia), EquityLender (UK) and many others around the world; from California, to Texas, Florida & New York; to Australia & the UK; and most recently to China. Although we have a global view of today's internet, we believe that quality customer care is best provided with a local mindset. Factors such as local market, language, style & target audience are primary factors when analyzing new projects.
